We are seeking a reliable, skilled and self motivated Experienced Pig Stockman to join our team. The Successful candidate will play a key role in the daily care, welfare, and performance of our pigs. This role requires excellent animal husbandry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards of biosecurity and hygeine.
Key Responsibilities
Animal Husbandry & Welfare
Daily checking, handling and monitoring of pigs across all stages of finishing.
Ensuring high welfare standards, identifying and treating any signs of illness or distress
Farm Operations
Mucking out, strawing down, washing down pens and general unit hygiene
Keeping detailed records of treatments, mortalities and performance
Operating farm Machinery and equipment safely (loaders, pressure washers etc) as this is a large part of this role
Teamwork & Communication
Working effectively as part of a small team and supporting colleagues when required
Reporting issues promptly to the Farm Manager
Contributing to continuous improvement of the farm performance
Key Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of modern pig husbandry and welfare practices
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Good practical skills and confidence handling animals
Reliable, hardworking and committed to high standards
Full Uk driving license
