Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Yard Operative/Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the lifting and moving of vehicles, vehicle repositioning and driving to customers within the base area environment. Your expertise in forklift operation and mechanical knowledge will ensure smooth logistics flow and safe equipment use. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced facility where safety, precision, and teamwork are paramount. You'll be working in an outdoor environment with different requirements daily to support our clients. The position is Monday to Friday 08.00 until 17.00 but may involve extra hours occasionally. Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and other site equipment to load, unload, move, and organize vehicles throughout the facility
- Maintain accurate records to track vehicle movements and key locations
- Notify maintenance teams of mechanical issues to ensure operational efficiency
- Handle vehicles with care, ensuring safe and correct parking , storage, and safety protocols are followed at all times
- Perform regular safety checks of equipment and work areas to uphold health and safety standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or similar logistics roles with a focus on vehicle handling would be preferred, but not essential
- Valid forklift certification preferred with demonstrated proficiency in operating various types of forklifts safely
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate shipping, receiving, and recordkeeping
- Must be over 25 years of age with a full clean Driving licence for Insurance purposes. Due to the location of the site you must have your own means of transport
- Police Vetting will be required, due to the nature of our business. This will be carried out for the successful applicant by the employer
