Summary:
Nijhuis Saur Industries are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to assist with engineering activities across various project stages including Estimating, Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Engineering Design, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning for our Water, O&G and Petrochemical projects.
You will be responsible for leading the delivery of the Electrical Scopes of our projects from a technical perspective to meet quality, time frame and budgeting requirements as well as client expectations. HSE will be of paramount importance to ensure compliance with defined standards, improving working practices and systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead all Electrical activities of engineering, design, estimating, procurement, and eventual construction (EPC) commissioning through each phase of the project from Initial Concept / FEED to detailed design to final sign offs at site.
- Working alongside the Lead EC&I Engineer to produce detail design / construction / manhour estimates.
- Provide technical expertise on electrical discipline deliverables for projects.
- Have extensive experience when to comes to Management of Change.
- Be able to produce project schedules and to be able to work to a project schedule.
- Have National Grid connection experience.
- Fully adverse with the production of detailed design documentation, SLDs, BLDs, Wiring Schematics, Calculations, General Arrangements etc.
- Competent for the Checking / Approval of complex Electrical deliverables including calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
- Be comfortable commissioning large sites and producing commissioning procedures and plans as needed.
- Liaise with Project Managers to finalise the Electrical Engineering scope for the entire project.
- Liasing with third party companies to bring together the whole Electrical Design.
- Provide Electrical Technical Support to NSI UK sister companies.
- Work closely with Engineering Teams during the project to ensure facility integrity in terms of HSE and provide input into HAZOP / HAZIDs.
- Participation in design reviews, 3D Model Reviews, Value Engineering and Risk Management.
- Participate in site surveys / inspections to obtain field As-Built data and conditions.
- Extensive experience working within a multi-disciplinary team including instrumentation, process, civil, structural, piping, and mechanical.
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain necessary design data and incorporate this into the design drawings and specifications.
- Ensure design corresponds with all applicable codes and standards, with a knowledge of
- WIMES standards been preferred.
- Experience with using AMTECH / ETAP (preferred) / DIALux / AutoCAD (preferred) etc.
- National Grid Connection Experience (preferred)
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in electrical engineering.
- Preferably chartered or working towards chartership.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in as an electrical engineer.
- Proficiency in site surveys and data gathering.
