Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Concrete Mixer Driver to operate and manage concrete mixer lorries across various construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of concrete, ensuring timely and efficient service. This role requires a professional attitude, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to handle commercial driving responsibilities with precision and safety.
Duties
- Operate HGV concrete mixer lorries in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
- Deliver mixed concrete to designated construction sites promptly and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking fluid levels, tyres, and mechanical components.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
- Ensure the concrete mixer is loaded correctly and that mixing processes are performed accurately en route.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance tasks as needed, utilising mechanical knowledge to identify potential issues.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations during transportation and loading/unloading procedures.
- Communicate effectively with site managers and dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries.
Skills
- Valid HGV licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, particularly with concrete mixers or similar heavy vehicles but mixer training can be given.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor repairs.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to safety standards at all times.
This role offers an opportunity to work within a professional team environment, contributing to major construction projects while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality in every delivery. The location for this position can be either at Milton Keynes or Northampton base concrete plants depending on preference.
Pay: £130.00 per day
