Full job description

We are looking for an organised and proactive Purchasing Administrator to join our team and support the day-to-day purchasing requirements of our groundworks and construction projects.

The role will involve working closely with our site, commercial and accounts teams to ensure materials, plant and services are ordered accurately, competitively and delivered when required.

Key Responsibilities

Obtain and compare supplier quotations.
Raise and issue purchase orders.
Order construction materials, plant and site supplies.
Coordinate deliveries with suppliers and site teams.
Monitor plant hire and arrange off-hires where required.
Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records.
Assist with resolving invoice and purchase order queries.
Support the commercial and estimating teams with current supplier pricing.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure competitive rates and reliable service.

Skills & Experience

Strong organisational and communication skills.
Good attention to detail and numerical ability.
Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Previous experience in purchasing, administration or construction is preferred.
Knowledge of groundworks materials and plant would be advantageous.
Experience using Sage or similar accounting software would be beneficial.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy construction environment and dealing with suppliers, site teams and multiple live projects.

Pay: £27,500.00-£32,500.00 per year
