The Role
As a Structural Technician, you will support our engineering team in the delivery of a diverse range of projects. Working closely with Structural Engineers, you will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings and documentation, helping to develop practical engineering solutions from concept through to construction.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a collaborative environment, demonstrating excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work of the highest standard. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Wymondham office.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate technical drawings and associated documentation for structural engineering projects.
- Prepare, revise, and maintain engineering drawings in accordance with project requirements and company standards.
- Work closely with Structural Engineers throughout the design and project delivery process.
- Ensure drawings are coordinated, accurate and issued in accordance with project deadlines.
- Interpret engineering information and incorporate design revisions where required.
- Maintain drawing registers and revision control.
- Liaise effectively with internal and external teams to support successful project delivery.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards and design processes.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant industry standards and best practice.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Structural Technician or within a similar technical role in the structural engineering or construction industry.
- Proficiency using industry-standard CAD software to produce technical engineering drawings.
- A sound understanding of engineering drawing standards and construction detailing.
- The ability to interpret engineering information and produce clear, accurate technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn, develop and contribute to innovative engineering projects.
