Commercial & Operations Assistant – Plumbing & Heating

Wintle Heating and Plumbing Ltd
Location: Northampton, Moulton Park
Salary: £26,000.00
Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Working hours: 8am-5pm - 1hr Lunch or 8am - 4:30pm - 30 minute lunch

About Us

Wintle Heating and Plumbing Ltd is an established plumbing and heating contractor specialising in new-build housing developments.

We are looking for an organised and motivated Commercial & Operations Assistant to join our team. This is a varied role supporting both the operational and commercial sides of the business, with excellent opportunities to progress into procurement, estimating or surveying.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing material schedules for new-build housing plots and developments
Assisting with the ordering and coordination of plumbing and heating materials
Pricing daywork items and additional works
Reviewing drawings, specifications and site information
Maintaining spreadsheets, records and internal systems
Processing paperwork and carrying out general administrative duties
Communicating with site supervisors, plumbers, suppliers and housebuilders
Assisting the estimating, purchasing and contracts teams
Monitoring outstanding information, orders and queries
Producing reports and providing general office support

Skills and Experience

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Good written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working with figures and pricing information
Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
A proactive approach and willingness to learn
Previous experience in construction, plumbing, heating, procurement or estimating would be beneficial but is not essential

Full training will be provided for the right candidate to progress into other roles in the business.
