We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team at Bendalls Carlisle. Reporting to the Projects Director, you will take ownership of the delivery of allocated projects from order receipt through to final sign-off, ensuring they are delivered on time, to cost, and to the highest quality standards.
You will drive the design, development, and delivery of our projects from concept through to full production, working closely with Business Development, Project Engineers, Finance, Quality, Contracts, Production, suppliers, and customers. You will provide leadership and set the tone for project execution, building strong, transparent relationships with our clients throughout.
We welcome applications from project management professionals with a background in industrial, mechanical, or process engineering environments. The role will require travel between our Cumbrian sites and to customer locations as required.

Location
Brunthill Road, Kingstown, Carlisle, CA3 0EH, with travel to customer and site locations as required
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week with option of an early finish Friday
Salary
£53-56K dependent on experience
Key responsibilities
· Direct and oversee all aspects of project delivery, from order receipt through to completion.
· Facilitate collaboration between engineers, designers, and production teams to develop and deliver each project.
· Interpret technical information and quality documentation in response to customer requirements.
· Coordinate engineering documentation and workshop activities in conjunction with the Production Manager, working to programme.
· Manage all project phases, addressing concerns raised by any stakeholders.
· Manage and control budget costs, ensuring profit margin is maintained.
· Provide leadership and set the tone for successful project execution.
· Maintain transparency with clients throughout the project, implementing Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs) where necessary.
· Set up and manage regular customer calls, maintaining strong working relationships.
· Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting summaries to key stakeholders.
· Visit sites to verify project progress, gather stakeholder and customer feedback, and escalate concerns as needed.
· Monitor labour utilisation and provide reports to support cost recovery for delays.
What you need for the role.
· An ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking to a range of technical problems.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
· Commercial awareness, including knowledge of NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contracts, and the ability to prioritise workshop loading and manage labour.
· Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD.
