Powys is on the cusp of one of the most exciting periods in its history.
In 2027, the world will be watching as Powys hosts a remarkable programme of major events, including the Tour de France Grand Départ, the National Eisteddfod, and the International Six Days Enduro, that builds on our fantastic events legacy of Green Man Festival and Royal Welsh Show, creating an extraordinary platform to showcase our county to national and international audiences. These events represent a once-in-a-generation opportunity to drive tourism, investment, business growth and community pride.
At the same time, we have launched the ambitious GROW Powys Economic Strategy 2026-2040, setting out a vision for a stronger, fairer and greener economy built around innovation, skills, higher-value employment and sustainable growth.
We are seeking an exceptional leader to become our next Head of Economy and Climate and play a central role in delivering this vision.

As a member of the Council's Senior Leadership Team, you will help provide strategic leadership for the organisation and influence decisions that will shape the future of Powys for generations to come.
