About the role
As a Service Maintenance Technician - Security at Tesco across Thetford areas, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.
Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You’ll use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality.
This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. You will be responsible for

Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.

Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.

Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.

General day to day store and property maintenance.

Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.

Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values (serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day), maintaining a positive attitude & taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.

Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.

Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.

Confidently Interact with External Contractors: Coordinating repairs seamlessly.

You will need

Full Driving license
-
Health & Safety awareness
-
Proven Security-related technical skills - City & Guilds, apprenticeship
-
CCTV (analogue & IP) experience (essential)
-
CCTV qualification/certification (desirable)
-
Ability to install, configure and maintain CCTV equipment to the relevant industry standards

Experience working with the following systems: Hikvision, Pelco, Hanwha Techwin

Experience of working in a retail environment (desirable)

Administrative skills to include IT & Microsoft Office suite

Customer/stakeholder escalation management

Resource scheduling
-
IOSH qualification (desirable)

IPAF (desirable)

Annual bonus scheme of up to 10% of base salary.
