What we are looking for:
- Proven experience designing and developing WordPress websites.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and working knowledge of PHP.
- Experience building custom themes and using page builders.
- Solid understanding of responsive design, web performance and accessibility fundamentals.
- Experience collaborating within multi‑disciplinary teams
- The ability to work across multiple projects and priorities.
- Experience using AI to support workflow efficiency, layout exploration and code refinement.
- Understanding of the limitations, security and quality considerations when using AI‑assisted outputs.
What you’ll need to do:
In this role you’ll design, build and maintain high quality WordPress websites that balance strong visual design with solid technical execution. This role operates confidently between design and development, translating briefs into well crafted, scalable digital experiences.
- Design and build WordPress websites from concept through to deployment.
- Translate wireframes, designs and content into responsive, accessible web pages.
- Develop and customise WordPress themes using best‑practice HTML, CSS and PHP.
- Implement and configure plugins to meet functional requirements without over‑engineering.
- Ensure websites are responsive, performant and accessible across devices and browsers.
- Maintain and update existing WordPress sites, resolving bugs and issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with designers, content creators, SEO and account teams.
- Use AI tools to support layout, component development, code optimisation and testing where appropriate.
- Manage multiple web tasks and deadlines concurrently.
- Maintain clean, well‑structured code and documentation.
