Are you a hands-on purchasing professional ready to take ownership of a busy, varied purchasing department?
We're looking for a Senior Purchasing Coordinator to drive purchasing across our growing property portfolio — spanning student accommodation, private rentals, commercial units, and construction and development projects.
This is a genuinely broad role. One day you might be negotiating plant hire for a development site; the next, streamlining stock control across multiple locations. You'll work directly with senior management, project teams and site staff.
As a growing SME, you'll work closely with our senior leaders and have real visibility across the business. Budget approvals and key sign-offs go through the directors, so this isn't a role with full autonomous purchasing authority — but if you're comfortable working within that framework, you'll find plenty of variety and real scope to make the role your own.
What you'll be doing:
- Taking the lead on purchasing across operational sites, new developments and refurbishments
- Sourcing materials, equipment, operational supplies and plant hire
- Building and managing supplier relationships — negotiating pricing, agreements and monitoring performance
- Coordinating project purchases, tracking deliveries and managing logistics
- Overseeing stock control, inventory systems and inter-site deliveries
- Checking invoices, resolving discrepancies and supporting the finance team
- Handling product issues, returns and quality checks
- Improving purchasing processes, systems and documentation as we grow
- Supervising and supporting a Purchasing Coordinator
About you:
- Solid purchasing experience — ideally gained in construction or a related trade environment
- A confident negotiator and communicator who can manage suppliers and deadlines without missing a beat
- Organised, proactive and detail-focused, with a practical, roll-your-sleeves-up mindset
- Calm and adaptable — we're a fast-paced SME where priorities shift and you'll often be juggling several things at once
- A team player who enjoys working within a close-knit structure where key decisions are made collectively
- Comfortable being close to the action, where decisions happen quickly
- CIPS or a similar qualification is a nice-to-have — but hands-on experience matters more to us
- Able to be based full-time at our LE3 0GH office
As with any dynamic team, you may occasionally pitch in with wider office tasks to support our busy environment.
Why join us?
You'll be joining a well-respected, expanding brand with excellent long-term career prospects, direct exposure to senior decision-makers and the chance to shape how purchasing works here. On top of that you will also recieve:
- Enhanced Health & Wellbeing EAP programme
- Free on-site gym
- Free parking
- Paid company events and team activities
- A supportive, collaborative working environment
