Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Commis Chef to join kitchen team. In this vital role, you will assist in food preparation, cooking, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. You will work closely with senior chefs to learn the art of culinary excellence while contributing to a lively, fast-paced kitchen environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to develop their skills in hospitality, food production, and team management within a vibrant restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

Support the kitchen team in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
Assist with food presentation and plating to ensure visually appealing dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
Participate in food production processes, including portioning, garnishing, and assembling menu items
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service times
Follow instructions from senior chefs and supervisors to improve culinary techniques and efficiency
Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating leadership qualities and proactive communication

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety standards is advantageous
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, with supervisory or leadership experience considered a plus
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
Experience in restaurant service or serving is beneficial but not mandatory; a customer-focused attitude is essential
