Family Lawyer role:

We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Family Lawyer to join the team; please note some travel and out of hours working will be required for business development, meetings and training purpose.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of High-Net-Worth financial cases, Children Act Proceedings and the wider Family Law.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing and innovative Family Law team.

We are flexible on the location of this role being in Peterborough or Stamford.

Responsibilities of a Family Lawyer:

Reporting to the Partners in the department to assist with driving forward a caseload of all elements of family law, including preventative work, high net worth financial remedy negotiations and proceedings, Children Act work, TOLATA cases, elements of international law, injunctive proceeding. Specialisation is encouraged.
An integral part of the Family team, delivering on agreed objectives, sourcing new opportunities and supporting the overall profile of the team.
Proactively attracting work according to the needs of the firm, including a focus of growth within Stamford, Rutland and the surrounding geographical areas.
Delivery of individual targets with minimal supervision.
Ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and building appropriate relationships with clients.
Adherence to quality procedures and management systems.
Undertake and deliver work in a commercially effective manner.
Supporting more junior members of the team.
Development of technical and non-technical skills to meet client and firm requirements and demonstrate continuous improvement in all areas of work.

Skills and experience of a Family Lawyer:

Relevant Professional Qualification

Strong legal skills and knowledge in a Family Law setting, with a minimum of 5-10 year PQE.
Responsible for a broad and varied caseload including pre-nuptial agreements, divorce, high net worth financial remedy proceedings, Children Act proceedings, TOLATA proceedings international cases, and Injunctive relief. An area of specialisation is encouraged and will be discussed further at interview stage.
Excellent communication skills at all levels, both in writing and verbally.
You will be proactive and passionate about your career.
Proven results in supporting business development across a team or firm.
Working knowledge of case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
A strong team player with a motivational hands-on approach.
Uses initiative, plans and organises own time and workload to meet deadlines and prioritises work.
A measured and rational approach to problem-solving.
Deals confidently and diplomatically with clients and other stakeholders.
Demonstrates integrity and congruence when dealing with people.
