Full job description

CNC Turner / CNC Miller – Setter, Operator & Programmer

Location: Gloucester
Salary: Around £42,500 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Hours: Day Shift Only
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner or CNC Miller to join our established workshop near Gloucester. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who can set, operate and programme CNC machinery, producing high-quality precision components.

The successful candidate will have experience with either Fanuc or Heidenhain controls and be confident working independently from engineering drawings through to finished components.

Key Responsibilities

Set, operate and programme CNC turning or milling machines.
Produce precision components to drawing specifications and quality standards.
Edit and optimise CNC programmes where required.
Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures and cutting parameters.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Work efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining quality.

Requirements

Proven experience as a CNC Turner or CNC Miller.
Experience with Fanuc or Heidenhain control systems.
Ability to set, operate and programme CNC machines.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
Experience using precision measuring equipment.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
