We are seeking several enthusiastic, reliable and motivated individuals to join our Pharmacy Supply Team and help deliver a vital medicines service to patients across our hospitals and healthcare settings.
As a Pharmacy Supply Assistant, you will play an important role within our dispensary and distribution services, supporting the safe and timely supply of medicines to wards, departments and patients. You will work as part of a friendly and supportive team undertaking a variety of duties including dispensing inpatient, outpatient and discharge prescriptions, stock management, ward top-up services and medicines distribution.
This is a rewarding position for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have excellent organisational skills, pay close attention to detail and are committed to delivering high-quality patient services. Full training will be provided, and previous pharmacy experience, whilst desirable, is not essential. Opportunities to undertake a Level 2 Pharmacy Services qualification are also available.

Dispensary Duties
As part of our dispensary team, you will undertake a range of activities including:
Supporting the processing of inpatient, outpatient, and discharge prescriptions
Preparing medicines for supply under supervision
Contributing to the day‑to‑day running of the dispensary
You will predominantly be based in the dispensary , helping deliver a comprehensive pharmacy service to acute hospital wards, community hospitals, and other patient settings

Distribution: The Distribution section of the Pharmacy issues approximately 300,000 medicinal and pharmaceutical products annually to more than 500 locations within University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, Livewell South West, Devon Partnership Trust, Cornwall Foundation Partnership Trust and numerous non-NHS and commercial organisations. Distribution performs over 4,000 ward ‘top-ups’ to approximately 50 wards/departments within University Hospitals Plymouth.
Dispensary : This person is expected to accurately label and dispense approximately 200 prescription items daily. They are expected to participate in daily porting duties which include walking to wards and departments for up to 7 hours per day, delivering medicines. This may mean walking up to 10+ miles per day and a constant use of stairs.
