Job Title: Café Assistant – Beach Box Cafés
Location: Working across our sites - Harlyn, Mawgan Porth & Polzeath.
Job Type: Full Time, Part Time, Weekends Available.
Pay: Varies dependent on age

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve customers efficiently with food and drink orders and handle payments accurately.
- Assist in the preparation, cleaning, and tidying of the café, tables, and surrounding grounds before, during, and after service.
- Prepare hot & cold food/drinks for service to ensure speed and quality.
- Deliver outstanding customer service, providing advice and recommendations on menu items.
- Monitor stock levels, manage orders, and rotate supplies to maintain café readiness.
- Manage queues, upsell products, and ensure a positive customer experience to drive repeat business.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and report feedback to management.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures.
- Maintain café security, including handling cash, taking payments, and closing up safely.
- Assist with displays and promotions to enhance customer engagement.
- Perform any other duties necessary to support Beach Box Café’s operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a café, hospitality, or customer service role preferred.
- Barista skills.
- Knowledge of food allergies and intolerances is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and safety.
- A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented approach.
