Pastry Sous Chef

The Choux Box Patisserie, Bath

Full time, permanent

The Choux Box Patisserie is looking for a Pastry Sous Chef to join our growing team in Bath.

We are looking for someone with strong pastry, bakery or kitchen experience who is ready to take on more responsibility within a small but ambitious patisserie business. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about high quality pastry, enjoys working as part of a team and would like to grow with the business.

We specialise in choux buns, macarons and modern patisserie, supplying our Bath stores, events, afternoon teas and our growing Choux Box brand.

Pay will be dependent on experience, skill level and what you can bring to the team.

The role

This is a full time position, working 40 hours per week across 5 days.

Typical working hours are 6am to 3pm, with occasional earlier starts during busy periods or events.

There are no evenings and no split shifts.

Responsibilities may include

Preparing our choux bun products fresh each morning for our Bath stores

Baking, filling and finishing products to a high standard

Preparing elements for daily service, events and afternoon teas

Supporting the Head Pastry Chef and senior kitchen team

Helping maintain consistency, quality and presentation across all products

Working cleanly, efficiently and professionally

Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment

Supporting with stock checks and ordering where needed

Helping guide and support more junior members of the team

Keeping an interest in new pastry ideas, trends and techniques

Offering polite and professional service to customers from our in kitchen shop when needed

The ideal candidate will have

Experience working in a pastry, bakery or professional kitchen environment

A genuine passion for pastry, baking and high quality products

Good attention to detail

A positive and reliable attitude

The ability to work cleanly and efficiently

Confidence working as part of a team

An interest in choux buns, macarons and modern patisserie

A desire to grow and develop within the business

Some experience supporting or guiding others would be helpful, but is not essential

What we are offering

A 5 day working week

Typical shifts from 6am to 3pm

Early finishes and evenings off

No split shifts
