Full job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Primary Tutor to inspire and support learners in a small group and one to one setting. As a Primary Tutor you will create engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning needs, including those of children and students requiring special education support. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help learners achieve their goals and unlock new opportunities through improved skills in phonics, literacy and SATs Preparation.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver dynamic, personalised lessons that cater to individual learning styles and goals
Foster a positive and encouraging classroom environment that motivates students to participate actively in a calm and nurturing environment
Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Support students with special educational needs by implementing tailored instructional techniques
Communicate clearly with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure consistent progress tracking and feedback
Incorporate engaging activities, multimedia resources, and real-world examples to enhance learning experiences
Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, student attendance, and progress reports

Qualifications

Proven experience in tutoring or teaching English, ideally with diverse age groups or learning needs
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently
Experience working with children or in special education environments is highly desirable
Knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and curriculum development for language learners
Ability to create an inclusive classroom that supports learners with different abilities and backgrounds
Enthusiasm for helping students succeed and a proactive approach to lesson planning and student engagement

Applicants must hold QTS and be able to commute to our brand new purpose built classroom in Lytham St Annes for after school tutoring. There will also be additional hours available within school settings in the local area during the daytime.

Pay: £30.00-£40.00 per hour
