Full job description

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and proactive Nursery Administrator / Receptionist to support the smooth running of Henley Day Nursery, opening at St Mary’s Prep School in Henley-on-Thames.

This is a key front of house role, providing a warm and professional welcome to children, parents, carers, and visitors. The successful candidate will combine strong administrative skills with excellent customer service, acting as the first point of contact for the nursery and playing a vital role in creating a calm, supportive, and well organised environment, particularly during busy drop-off and pickup times.

Hours, Salary & Benefits:

Hours: 24 hours per week (initially), year-round. Exact working pattern to be agreed.

Location: Based at Henley Day Nursery, St Mary’s Prep School, Henley-on-Thames.

Salary: £13.45 per hour / £16,785.60 pa

Person Specification:

Essential

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confident, friendly, and professional manner, particularly when working with families and children.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy, child-centred environment.

Desirable

Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role.
Experience working in a nursery, childcare, or education setting.
Knowledge of nursery management systems (e.g. EYworks).
First Aid and Safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake training).
