This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract established to provide essential Human Resources support and is intended as a Year in Industry (YiNI) opportunity for an undergraduate student.
You will be supporting Watson-Marlow’s Central Functions and Strategic Business Development team Working under the guidance of the HR Advisor for Central Functions and SBD, you will assist with a wide range of operational HR, processes, and projects that enable a rapidly growing business.
Key Accountabilities include:
HR Administration
Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team across a range of HR activities.
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR systems are updated in a timely manner.
Manage HR documentation, electronic filing and data management processes.
Produce HR reports, presentations and management information as required.
Support payroll administration by liaising with Payroll.
Processing purchase orders and invoices.
Recruitment and Onboarding
Support recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communications and onboarding administration.
Coordinate pre-employment checks and new starter documentation.
Assist in delivering a positive onboarding experience for new employees.
Employee Lifecycle Support
Prepare HR documentation including contracts, letters and employee correspondence.
Support employee changes including promotions, transfers and leavers.
Respond to routine employee and manager queries, escalating where appropriate.
Performance, Engagement and Projects
Support the administration of performance management activities, including objective setting, talent reviews and annual review cycles.
Assist with employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives.
Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement activities.
Support the development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures and guidance.
HR Systems and Continuous Improvement
Support the maintenance and improvement of HR systems, SharePoint/ Intranet sites and HR resources.
Assist with HR data analysis and reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and ways of working.
Skills/Experience:
A good standard of general education, particularly in English and maths
Experience of using MS packages including working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Strong communication

Ability to work effectively as part of a team
High learning agility and adaptability; continuous curiosity to learn and develop with a positive mindset
