Important information about the start date
VanVolt is currently in the process of securing a new workshop.

The proposed location and expected start date will be confirmed with shortlisted applicants before any employment offer is made.
About VanVolt
VanVolt supplies complete DIY campervan electrical packages to customers throughout the UK.
Customers tell us about their vehicle, appliances and travel plans, and we match them with an appropriate electrical system containing items such as lithium batteries, solar panels, chargers, inverters, protection equipment and cabling.
Our packages are designed to make campervan electrics easier to understand, purchase and install. We provide matched components, clearly labelled parts, a tailored guide and ongoing technical support.
We are looking for a confident and highly organised Sales & Operations Coordinator to help turn our growing number of enquiries into completed orders.
An established pipeline from day one
This is not a position where you will be waiting for the telephone to ring.
VanVolt already has a substantial database of more than 300 previous customer enquiries and quotations, with new enquiries arriving regularly.
Your initial priority will be to contact these customers, understand where they are in their project, update their requirements and help them choose and purchase the correct VanVolt package.
There is no purchased cold-calling data. You will be speaking with people who have previously contacted VanVolt, completed our Build My Setup form or requested a quotation.
The role
You will manage standard VanVolt customers from their initial enquiry through to quotation, payment and dispatch.
Using our established questionnaire, approved packages, pricing structure and quotation templates, you will:
- Answer incoming telephone calls and emails
- Contact previous VanVolt enquiries and outstanding quotations
- Ask the correct questions about the customer’s vehicle and requirements
- Match customers with an approved VanVolt package
- Explain packages and available upgrades clearly
- Prepare and send accurate quotations
- Follow up quotations consistently and professionally
- Ask for the sale and help customers complete their purchase
- Keep accurate records of every conversation, quotation and follow-up
- Confirm payments, delivery details and order information
- Keep customers updated while their order is being prepared
- Pass technical questions and unusual systems to VanVolt’s technical lead
You will not be expected to design electrical systems independently or answer complex installation questions. Full technical support will be available from the business owner.
Order and fulfilment responsibilities
When a customer places an order, you will also help manage it through to dispatch.
This will include:
- Ordering approved components from established suppliers
- Sending the correct specification to our local cable and protection-equipment supplier
- Monitoring supplier deliveries
- Receiving and checking products
- Confirming that the correct models and quantities have arrived
- Checking prepared cable and protection packs against the approved order list
- Applying clear VanVolt labels
- Adding the correct customer guide and supporting documents
- Repacking each system carefully and professionally
- Completing the final order checklist
- Arranging courier collections
- Sending tracking information to customers
- Maintaining accurate order and basic stock records
- Helping resolve supplier, delivery or return issues
The position combines telephone sales and customer service with practical order preparation. Applicants must be comfortable doing both.
Training
Full training will be provided on:
- VanVolt’s standard electrical packages
- The questions customers need to be asked
- Package pricing and approved upgrades
- Our quotation and follow-up process
- Common customer questions and objections
- When an enquiry must be referred for technical approval
- Purchasing, checking, labelling and dispatch procedures
You will not need to become an electrical engineer. You will need to learn our approved package system, communicate confidently and follow processes accurately.
We expect the successful applicant to begin making supported customer calls during their first few working days.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Is confident, natural and professional on the telephone
- Has previous sales or customer-service experience
- Is comfortable contacting previous enquiries and following up quotations
- Knows how to listen, ask questions and guide customers towards a decision
- Can ask for the sale without using high-pressure tactics
- Communicates clearly by telephone and email
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is comfortable working with prices, quantities and product codes
- Can manage multiple enquiries at different stages
- Keeps accurate and organised records
- Can work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Is comfortable combining office work with checking and packing orders
- Has good general computer skills
- Is reliable, punctual and willing to learn
Experience with campervans, automotive products, electrical components, e-commerce, CRM systems, purchasing or order fulfilment would be beneficial but is not essential.
Performance and progression
Performance will be measured fairly across:
- Customer response times
- Meaningful customer conversations
- Consistent quotation follow-up
- Completed profitable sales
- Quotation and order accuracy
- Customer service
- Dispatch accuracy
A performance-related sales bonus will be available in addition to the hourly wage.
The role will initially be 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 10am until 2pm. There is a genuine opportunity to increase the position to 30 hours and eventually full-time as sales grow.
VanVolt also plans to expand into installation services and other related industries. The successful applicant may therefore have the opportunity to develop into a broader sales, scheduling and operations position as the businesses expand.
What we offer
- £14.50 per hour
- Performance-related bonus
- Permanent weekday hours
- No evening or weekend work
- No cold-calling lists
- An established customer pipeline from day one
- Full product and process training
- Genuine opportunity to progress into a full-time position
- The opportunity to become an important early member of a growing business
