Job Title: Conference Porter Supervisor
Responsible to: Events Manager / Events Assistant Manager

Hours: We are committed to providing you with a minimum of 22 ½ hours per week
OVERALL PURPOSE OF POST:
To prepare, set-up and breakdown Magna’s spaces to support business operations.
MAIN DUTIES OF THE ROLE:
· Prepare corporate and private hire event spaces, including client liaison, ensuring function spaces are correct and ready to the highest possible standards.
· Breakdown and reset event spaces to enable business operations across the board.
· Provide general assistance at events as required, including set up and preparation of bar areas.
· Work with the Corporate Events Team to ensure that a copy of the function summary sheet is obtained the week prior, and to be aware of the detail of events and any last-minute conferences, or changes to an existing event.
· Ensure signatures are obtained for any extras or waivers that are required on the day.
· Ensure the security of Magna’s premises and property during events, set-up and breakdown periods, liaising with contractors and external companies as required.
· Ensure that heating and lighting are switched on pre-event and off post-event if necessary.
· Communicate effectively across Magna’s departments to ensure the effective delivery of events and smooth working relations.
· Ensure that you have received instruction on using any equipment required for specific events and are familiar with any RAMS ie moving Tiered Seating units, positioning truss and lighting rigs, enabling power and lighting requirements as per specific events.
· Ensure all keys, projectors, screens, laptops, staging, lighting, flipcharts and other equipment are returned to the appropriate secure storage area.
· Assist with deliveries, ensuring all paperwork is correct and items are stored correctly.
· Participate in maintaining stock control and inventory of events equipment.
· Carry out simple general maintenance tasks to event equipment as required.
· Ensure that event equipment is stored in a tidy manner and any damage or function failure is reported.
· Basic painting and decorating skills would be beneficial.
OTHER DUTIES:
· To undertake training to enable the effective discharge of duties and responsibilities.
· To ensure the safety of visitors and staff by adhering to health, safety and security regulations and appropriate codes of working practice.
· Ensure that other operating procedures and company policies and practices are followed.
· To work as part of the wider Magna team, sharing resources and improving the quality of the service delivery to all visitors.
· Any other duties in connection with the position commensurate with the grade of the position.
· Undertake other duties at the venue at a comparable level of responsibility when required.
· Line manage a team of Event Porters.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
You will be required to work occasional evenings, weekend and Bank holidays. Some overnight shifts may also be required.

WAGE
The wage for this role is from £13.12 per hour.
