Current Opportunity: BIM Coordinator
Location:
Based at Fort Dunlop – this location sits on the eastern edge of Birmingham, adjacent to the M6 motorway, providing excellent transport links into the city and across the region. Fort Dunlop serves as a key hub within IPT Area North, supporting operations that span multiple sublots and regional activities. Its strategic position makes it an important point for coordination and access, with proximity to major infrastructure routes ensuring connectivity to both the Central Region and wider project areas.
Role description:
- Organise and manage information items in accordance with ISO 19650
- Collaborate with appointed parties to ensure information items are complete, assured and delivered to the Task Information Delivery Plan dates.
- Prepare submission of handover information items in accordance with ISO 16739-1:2024.
- Undertake assurance of IFC4.3 against Information Delivery Specification (IDS).
- Report all non-conformities to Line Manager.
- Support exchange of information deliverables to the Appointing Party.
- Actively engage with software developers to report bugs and/or improve toolsets.
- Maintain an efficient and standardised approach to work.
- Support the integration and co-ordination of supply chain information into the BIM environment, such as construction records, survey data, and fabrication details.
- Actively explore and pursue connections with on-site activities to support work, enhance awareness of BIM capabilities and encourage interaction and knowledge share.
- Conduct upskilling and knowledge share workshops. Assist with the implementation of supporting software for BIM within the Project.
- Represent the project to the wider core businesses at quarterly forums, share lessons learnt amongst the business unit and education practices through briefings/demonstrations
Essential Experience:
- Can demonstrate technical ability to create compliant IFC4.3 data models for infrastructure assets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, to support the ongoing management of the Building Information Modelling handover, through active interaction with the wider project team.
- Proficiency in information technology.
- Quick to learn new applications and tools.
- Tacit understanding and application of ISO 16739-1:2024 and ISO 19650.
- Experience and enthusiasm in developing the skills of others - expected to coach and disseminate knowledge to team including apprentices, graduates and more experienced members of the team.
- Drive for continuous improvement and finding more efficient ways of working.
- Rigour in application of information management standards.
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Experience with Bonsai and Bentley iTwin
