Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring smooth day-to-day bookkeeping operations.

Responsibilities

Manage and record all financial transactions using Sage 200 accounting software
Process accounts payable by verifying invoices, preparing payments, and maintaining vendor records
Prepare quarterly VAT returns
Setup bank payments to vendors
Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts regularly to ensure accuracy
Maintain up-to-date records of expenses, receipts, and financial documents
Assist with month-end closing procedures and prepare basic financial reports
Support the team with other bookkeeping tasks as needed to ensure efficient financial operations
Collaborate with external accountants during audits or tax preparations

Experience

Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
Proficiency with accounting software specifically Sage 50 or Sage 200
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £25.00-£30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
