We are an ambitious and expanding commercial property investment and management group seeking an experienced Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper to become an important member of our finance team.
This is not simply a bookkeeping position.

The Role
Reporting directly to senior management, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across multiple companies while ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day accounting function.
No two days are the same, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied and fast-paced working environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple companies
* Processing purchase and sales invoices
* Bank reconciliations
* Maintaining tenant rent ledgers and client accounts
* Monitoring rent, service charge and utility income
* Producing arrears reports and assisting with credit control
* Reconciling supplier statements and control accounts
* Preparing monthly management accounts
* Processing journals, accruals and prepayments
* VAT returns
* Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures
* Liaising with tenants, suppliers, contractors and external accountants
* Investigating and resolving account discrepancies
* Maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
* Supporting senior management with financial reporting and business analysis
* Assisting with finance projects as the business continues to grow
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience as an Accountant, Bookkeeper or Senior Accounts Assistant
* Strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge
* Experience with bank reconciliations, purchase ledger and sales ledger
* Excellent organisational skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple companies and prioritise workloads
* Confident working independently
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills
* Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
* Excellent communication skills
Desirable Experience
* Commercial property or property management accounting
* Residential lettings accounting
* Rent ledgers and tenant accounting
* Service charge accounting
* Utility recharges
* Multi-company accounting
* AAT qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience
* Experience with property management software

Working Hours
Monday to Friday - 8:30am – 5:30pm
This is a fully office-based position. Applicants must be able to commute reliably to Bury.
