What you'll be doing

Hachette Learning’s mission is that ‘together we unlock every learner’s unique potential’ and we are looking for an Editorial Project Manager to help us deliver this with the highest quality products for learners of all ages & stages.

Core Duties:

Ensure that projects keep to schedule, budget and quality standards and keep other business areas aware of progress
Advise Product Managers of editorial budget needs for the Investment Approval meeting
Select, on-board, brief and monitor performance of freelancers
Prepare editorial project briefs for freelancers and packagers
Create, edit and manage digital content including the publishing and archiving of this material
Work closely with the Picture Research team to ensure briefings are correct, logged and collate re-use image files
Clear third party permissions and ensure correct management of copy righted material
Check and manage proofs, liaising with authors to collate their corrections
Liaise with Product, Design, Development Editorial, Production and other internal teams to ensure smooth progress of projects

Who we are looking for

As part of a dynamic, quality driven Editorial team you will project manage the delivery of a wide range of digital and print resources, from handover of manuscript to publication, ensuring projects are managed on time, on budget and to high quality standards.

We are looking for a proactive problem solver with a proven track record in delivering quality products who can work across internal and external team managing print and digital products from manuscript to final publication. Writing briefs, managing third party permissions and copyright, with attention to detail and a commercial awareness.

The role will be based at our London or Bristol office, with a blend of 3 in-office days (Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays) and homeworking for the remaining 2 days per week.
