Crawford & Co Surveyors is a well-established and growing surveying practice, committed to delivering a professional and reliable service to our clients. We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled IT Technician to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems across the business.
The Role
As our IT Technician, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to staff, maintaining our IT infrastructure, and helping to improve the efficiency, security, and reliability of our systems. You will be the first point of contact for IT-related issues and will work closely with external providers when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line IT support to staff.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and printer issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Manage Microsoft 365 user accounts, permissions, and email administration.
- Set up new users, devices, and workstations.
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity.
- Maintain cybersecurity best practices, including antivirus, backups, and software updates.
- Assist with cloud services, file management, and data security.
- Liaise with third-party IT providers and software vendors when necessary.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation and asset registers.
- Support the implementation of new technologies and systems as the business grows.
- Support the responsible use of AI tools and automation where appropriate, helping to improve efficiency and adapt systems and workflows as new technologies develop.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in an IT support or IT technician role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with networking, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- Current knowledge of AI tools, trends, and practical applications, with a willingness to adapt and develop further as technologies evolve.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
- A full UK driving licence would be an advantage.
