Brief Overview
Highfield Pharmacy is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join our friendly and busy community pharmacy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about healthcare and wants to build a rewarding long-term career in pharmacy.
As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced pharmacists and pharmacy professionals, gaining the knowledge, practical skills and experience required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will play an important role in supporting the safe, effective and legal supply of medicines while delivering outstanding care and service to our patients.
Pay: From £8.00 per hour/Depends on experience

Training to be Provided
You will complete the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Apprenticeship Standard, delivered through a blended learning programme combining workplace training with structured learning.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Vacancy Description
This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience while working in a busy community pharmacy. You will become an important member of the team, supporting the delivery of safe and effective pharmacy services while developing the knowledge and practical skills required for a successful career.
Working under the supervision of qualified pharmacists and experienced pharmacy staff, your duties will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the safe, accurate and legal dispensing and supply of prescription medicines
- Ordering, receiving, storing and managing medicines and pharmaceutical stock
- Providing excellent customer service and person-centred advice on prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines, referring patients to the pharmacist where appropriate
- Assisting with stock control, expiry date checks and inventory management
- Maintaining accurate patient and pharmacy records in line with legal and professional requirements
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy, ensuring high standards are maintained
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contributing to patient safety and clinical governance
- Assisting with audits, quality improvement activities and responding to patient feedback
- Developing the skills to supervise and support pharmacy support staff as your knowledge and confidence grow
- Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and demonstrating professionalism at all times
