CHARTER FISHING BOAT LOOKING FOR A SKIPPER TO TAKE PEOPLE OUT FISHING
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Skipper to oversee the safe and efficient operation of vessels. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of maritime safety protocols, and a passion for navigation. This role involves managing crew, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, and maintaining vessel operations to the highest standards. The Skipper will play a vital part in delivering exceptional service while prioritising safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Command and navigate the vessel safely across designated routes, adhering to all maritime laws and safety standards.
- Lead, supervise,
- Conduct pre-departure checks on the vessel’s equipment, safety gear, and navigation systems.
- Plan voyage routes considering weather conditions, tides, and other environmental factors.
- Maintain detailed logs of voyages, incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with port authorities, cargo handlers, and other relevant personnel to facilitate smooth operations.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances at sea or port.
- Ensure compliance with all maritime safety regulations and company policies.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Skipper or in a similar maritime leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of navigation, seamanship, and vessel handling techniques.
- Familiarity with maritime safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Valid certification as a Skipper or Master Mariner recognised by relevant maritime authorities is essential.
