Full job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Crewe Manufacturing Facility for a full time (38 hours per week) CNC Machinist to join our team.

Main Duties

Set, load & operate a 3 Axis Lathe with a Live tooling function.
Understand and be confident to edit programs & sub-programs or be willing to learn these skills.
Be proactive to maximize efficiency while maintaining 100% quality through independent & validation checks.
Work closely with the manufacturing engineers to improve quality and cycle time.
Be a team player who wants the best for the customer and the team.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a positive outlook and a can do attitude. Some of the main tasks will include:

To work within standard operating procedures.
To set and operate CNC Machines to produce components to company procedures using work instruction cards.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and work to fine tolerances.
Ensure all relevant quality checks are carried out and recorded.

Weekly rotating shift pattern:

Mornings - Monday to Thursday 0600 to 1400, Friday 0600 to 1200 noon

Afternoons - Monday to Thursday 1400 to 2200, Friday 1200 noon to 1800

Essential and Desirable Skills:

Previous experience working with multi axis CNC machines (Essential)
Experience working in a similar role, in a manufacturing or engineering environment (Essential)
Ability to follow plans with minimum supervision (Essential)
Must be efficient and have excellent attention to detail (Essential)
Previous experience working with raw castings (Desirable)
Previous experience working with manual horizontal borers (Desirable)
