Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber/Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and gas systems across a variety of commercial and residential sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a solid technical background in plumbing, gas engineering, and related mechanical trades. The position requires a proactive approach to safety, quality, and customer service, ensuring all work complies with current regulations and standards.

Duties

Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
Conducting gas installations and servicing gas appliances in compliance with legal requirements.
Using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to complete tasks efficiently.
Performing heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate installation or repairs.
Diagnosing mechanical faults using technical knowledge and basic maths for measurements and calculations.
Assisting with the assembly of plumbing components and related systems on-site.
Ensuring all work adheres to health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe working practices.
Maintaining detailed records of work completed for client documentation and compliance purposes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in plumbing and gas engineering roles within commercial or residential settings.
Certification or recognised qualification in plumbing or gas engineering is highly desirable.
Proficiency with welding techniques, hand tools, power tools, and assembly processes.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems effectively.
Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and system diagnostics.
Experience with carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation or repair activities.
Valid driving licence.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
