Vehicle Prepper – Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd

The Role

Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd is looking for an experienced and reliable Vehicle Prepper to join our workshop team. You will be responsible for preparing refuse collection vehicles and commercial vehicle components for painting and refinishing, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while supporting the workshop's productivity and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare vehicle panels and components for painting by sanding, filling, and priming surfaces.
Carry out minor repairs and surface preparation to ensure a smooth, high-quality finish.
Mask vehicle panels, components, and equipment before painting.
Remove contaminants, old paint, rust, and imperfections from vehicle surfaces.
Clean and degrease vehicles prior to painting.
Assist Paint Technicians with the preparation of refuse vehicles and commercial vehicle bodywork.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
Follow all company health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
Work efficiently to meet workshop deadlines while maintaining excellent quality standards.
Support colleagues and contribute to a positive and professional team environment.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience as a Vehicle Prepper, Bodyshop Prep Technician, or similar role.
Experience working on commercial vehicles, HGVs, refuse vehicles, plant machinery, or large vehicles is desirable but not essential.
Good understanding of vehicle preparation techniques and bodyshop processes.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
