About the Role
We are looking for a creative, motivated and hands-on Videographer / Video Editor / Social Media Manager to manage the online presence of our businesses.
This is not a role where you will simply be scheduling posts or creating basic graphics. We are looking for someone who can actively visit our businesses, understand what we do, identify good content opportunities, shoot high-quality photo and video content, edit it professionally and use that content to build strong and engaging social media channels.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day social media presence across our businesses and help develop a consistent, professional and recognisable online identity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the social media accounts across our group of businesses
- Plan and maintain a regular content schedule
- Film high-quality short-form and longer-form video content
- Take professional photographs for social media and marketing use
- Edit videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and other platforms
- Create engaging content suited specifically to each platform
- Identify opportunities for content rather than waiting to be told what to film
- Attend our different business locations, events and operational sites to capture content
- Produce behind-the-scenes, promotional, staff, customer and day-to-day business content
- Write captions and social media copy in the correct tone for each business
- Maintain a consistent online presence across all platforms
- Respond to comments and messages where appropriate
- Monitor engagement, reach and performance of content
- Keep up to date with current social media trends, formats and platform changes
- Suggest new content ideas, campaigns and opportunities
- Organise and maintain a library of photographs, videos and other digital assets
- Work with management to promote new services, events, offers and business developments
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will be someone who is equally comfortable behind a camera, editing at a computer and managing social media accounts.
You should have:
- Strong videography and photography skills
- Good knowledge of video editing software
- Experience creating short-form social media content
- A strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn
- An understanding that content for LinkedIn should be different from content created for TikTok or Instagram
- Good written English and the ability to write natural, engaging captions
- An eye for what makes good content
- Confidence approaching staff, customers and day-to-day situations to capture footage
- The ability to work independently and generate your own ideas
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- An understanding of current social media trends without making every piece of content feel generic or copied
Experience using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Photoshop or Lightroom would be beneficial.
The Type of Person We Want
We are looking for somebody proactive.
You should be able to walk into one of our businesses and immediately start identifying opportunities for photographs, videos, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and other content.
We do not want somebody who needs to be given a script or exact instructions for every post.
You will be expected to learn our businesses, understand our customers and take ownership of how they are presented online.
Creativity is important, but so is producing content that feels professional, genuine and relevant to the business rather than overly staged or generic.
Our Businesses
You will be creating content across a number of different businesses and industries, meaning the role will be varied.
Content could include areas such as:
- Transport and same-day courier operations
- Commercial vehicles and logistics
- Warehousing
- Automotive repairs
- Plant and tool hire
- Hospitality and events
This provides plenty of opportunity to create varied content rather than working on the same type of brand every day.
Requirements
- Previous experience in videography, content creation or social media management
- Portfolio or examples of previous work
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Comfortable travelling between business locations
- Confident using professional cameras and/or high-quality mobile filming equipment
- Ability to edit and publish content independently
What We Offer
- A varied role across several established businesses
- A large amount of creative freedom
- Access to interesting businesses, vehicles, equipment, events and locations to create content around
- Opportunity to build several brands and significantly grow their online presence
- Scope to develop the role as the businesses continue to grow
Application
Please apply with your CV and, importantly, examples of content you have personally filmed and edited.
We would particularly like to see examples of:
- Instagram Reels / TikToks
- Business or commercial videography
- Photography
- Social media accounts you have managed
- Before-and-after examples showing your filming and editing ability
Please also include a brief explanation of how you would approach taking over the social media presence of several different businesses.
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
