The role of Editorial Associate at Electronic Specifier is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to progress their career in publishing.
Duties will include:
- Monitor upload and nurture relationships to create relevant editorial content for our family of technology publications. Must be comfortable growing their own social media profiles.
- Delegating content from editorial email inboxes for the various sites.
- Writing, editing and researching good quality editorial content across the magazine and website, including attending networking days, trade shows and other professional events to understand the latest surrounding tech startups.
- Supporting articles written with social media posts using social media scheduler.
- Work with the sales and marketing teams to create PRs supporting the growth of the magazines and their clients.
- Participating in on-camera journalism and marketing where relevant.
- Proof-reading and sub-editing content, as well as marketing material.
- Attending client meetings, trade shows and networking events on behalf of the company, including some overseas travel.
- Support the current managing editor in her absence to look after scheduling of the magazines.
A successful candidate must:
- Have excellent writing, editing, proof reading and communication skills;
- Comfortable meeting and networking with new people;
- Have an interest in technology;
- Have excellent computer and social media literacy;
- Have a proactive and flexible working attitude;
- Be able to work well as part of a team and have the initiative to work well and efficiently alone;
- Be able to work to tight deadlines;
- Minimum 1 year editorial experience;
- Journalism, Communications or Marketing qualification;
