Job Overview
We're looking for an experienced specialist access professional to join our team as a Structures Inspector. You'll carry out inspections of bridges and other structures using rope access and confined space entry techniques, working both locally and at sites across the country requiring overnight stays.
Duties
- Conduct thorough visual and technical inspections of bridges, identifying structural issues or potential hazards.
- Utilise specialised software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and CAD to document findings and prepare detailed reports.
- Analyse inspection data using tools like Mathcad to assess structural health and predict future maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop repair or reinforcement plans based on inspection outcomes.
- Assist in the planning and management of inspection schedules, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Contribute to system design improvements by providing expert insights based on inspection findings.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for compliance purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in civil engineering or construction with a focus on bridge or infrastructure inspection.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, CAD, or Mathcad is essential.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of system design principles relevant to bridge construction and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with construction processes and safety standards within civil engineering projects.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and inspection data accurately.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure precise documentation of all activities.
- Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or a related field are preferred.
