We're looking for an enthusiastic Admissions Advice and Guidance Officer on a 12 month fixed term contract, to join our Student Recruitment and Customer Services team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support prospective students from their first enquiry through to enrolment, providing high-quality information, advice and guidance that helps them choose the right course and begin their journey with confidence.
Working across a wide range of learner groups, you'll be at the heart of our admissions process, representing the College at events, building relationships with schools and supporting applicants every step of the way.
- Manage applications and enrolments from initial enquiry through to successful course placement.
- Provide high-quality information, advice and guidance to prospective students, parents and carers.
- Interview applicants and make course offers where appropriate.
- Deliver careers education, information, advice and guidance to individuals and groups, both within the College and at external events.
- Build positive relationships with schools, curriculum teams and external partners to support student recruitment.
- Maintain accurate admissions records and ensure learner information is processed efficiently.
- Identify learner support needs and refer applicants to the Learning Support team where appropriate.
- Represent the College at open days, school visits, parents' evenings, application events and promotional activities.
- Work closely with curriculum areas to monitor applications, identify trends and support recruitment activity.
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience while contributing to the continuous improvement of admissions processes.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent), or a willingness to achieve these within an agreed timeframe.
- An NVQ Level 2 in Advice and Guidance (or a willingness to work towards this qualification).
- A good understanding of the UK education system.
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confidence presenting to groups or delivering information sessions would be advantageous.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A proactive, adaptable and professional approach.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- A willingness to work across both the North Star and Queens Drive campuses, including occasional evenings and weekends to support recruitment events.
