Fish Brothers is looking for a skilled Diagnostic Technician to join our dedicated Volkswagen Group Service Centre in Swindon, supporting Skoda, SEAT, CUPRA and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
This is more than just another workshop role. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your expertise across multiple Volkswagen Group brands, with access to Volkswagen Group manufacturer training and ongoing technical development. For the right person, there is also the opportunity to work towards Master Technician level in the future.

This is a genuine Diagnostic Technician opportunity. Alongside servicing and repair work, you’ll be trusted to investigate faults, interpret diagnostic information and solve more complex technical issues.
Work with the technology of today – and tomorrow
From established petrol and diesel powertrains through to hybrid and fully electric vehicles, you’ll be working with a broad range of Volkswagen Group technology.
What you’ll be doing
As a Diagnostic Technician, you’ll carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and diagnostic work to manufacturer standards, with particular responsibility for identifying and resolving more complex faults.
You’ll use diagnostic equipment and technical information to investigate vehicle issues, carry out road testing and fault analysis where required, and work closely with the wider workshop and Service Advisor team to ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently.
Just as importantly, you’ll bring a methodical approach to problem solving and take pride in getting the diagnosis right.
What we’re looking for
You’ll need to hold an NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Service & Repair or equivalent, with strong technical and diagnostic experience.
Previous Volkswagen Group experience would be a real advantage, particularly if you already have experience with Volkswagen, Skoda, SEAT, CUPRA or Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. However, we’re also interested in hearing from experienced Diagnostic Technicians from other manufacturer backgrounds who have the technical ability and enthusiasm to develop their Volkswagen Group knowledge.
You’ll be someone who enjoys problem solving, works well as part of a workshop team and wants to continue developing their technical career.
What we offer
