About Mabilla Energy & Metals Ltd

Mabilla Energy & Metals Ltd (Company No. 08181942) is a UK company operating two growing business streams: the international trade of gold and precious metals between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, and professional energy consultancy led by our Director, a chartered energy professional with over twenty years' experience across NEPA/PHCN, the UK's National Grid, and Siemens. We are based at North Westgate House, Harlow, Essex.

The role

Working alongside our Director, you will provide the technical engineering capability for our energy consultancy: feasibility assessments for renewable and low-carbon power projects, power systems analysis, energy efficiency audits, and infrastructure advisory work for private and public-sector clients.

Key responsibilities

Conduct technical feasibility assessments for renewable energy and low-carbon power projects (solar, wind, hybrid), including yield estimation, grid connection considerations, and system sizing.
Perform power systems analysis: load assessments, network studies, and evaluation of generation, transmission, and distribution options.
Carry out energy efficiency audits producing costed recommendations for consumption reduction and decarbonisation.
Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, and advisory documents suitable for client boards and public-sector stakeholders.
Advise clients on energy procurement, tariff structures, power purchase agreements, and on-site generation business cases.
Contribute technical content to proposals and bids for new consultancy mandates.

What we are looking for (essential)

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Energy, Power Systems, or Renewable Energy Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline).
Minimum 2 years' experience in power systems, renewable energy, or energy consultancy engineering roles.
Demonstrable technical knowledge of renewable generation technologies, grid connection, and power system fundamentals.
Strong quantitative skills and proficiency with engineering analysis tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting technical findings to non-technical clients.

Desirable

Master's degree in a renewable energy discipline.
Progress toward chartered status (IET/Engineering Council).
Experience of energy markets in both developed and developing countries.

Salary and sponsorship

£37,500 – £46,100 per year, depending on experience and circumstances. Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is available for suitably qualified candidates, subject to Home Office requirements.
