Chef de Partie – Hammerman’s, Aberdeen

Salary: £32,000–£34,000 per year
Full-time, 45 hour week

Hammerman’s is an independent restaurant in Aberdeen city centre, focused on modern Scottish food served in a relaxed small-plates format.

Our menu is built around fresh, quality ingredients, bold flavours and contemporary takes on Scottish produce and familiar dishes. The kitchen is designed to be creative, fast-moving and quality-focused, with a menu that gives the team the opportunity to work across a wide range of ingredients, techniques and styles.

We are now looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team and help us continue to develop the food offering at Hammerman’s.

The Role

Working alongside the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will be responsible for running your section and helping deliver consistently high standards across every service.

As Chef de Partie, you will:

Take responsibility for your section during prep and service
Prepare, cook and present dishes consistently to the required standard
Work across different sections of the kitchen as required
Ensure all prep is completed accurately and on time
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and food hygiene
Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation standards
Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and reducing food waste
Support junior members of the kitchen team where required
Work closely with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service
Contribute ideas and feedback as menus and dishes develop
Help maintain a positive, professional and well-organised kitchen

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous Chef de Partie experience in a quality restaurant kitchen
Is confident running a section during busy services
Has a genuine interest in fresh food and modern cooking
Takes pride in presentation, consistency and attention to detail
Works well as part of a team
Can stay organised and composed during busy periods
Has a good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen standards
Is reliable, motivated and keen to continue developing as a chef
Would enjoy working with modern Scottish food and a small-plates style menu

This would suit someone who wants to work in an independent restaurant where the food offering is continually developing and where chefs have the opportunity to contribute rather than simply follow a fixed corporate menu.
