We are recruiting another Clinician (Nurse, Paramedic or Pharmacist) to join our team on a Friday to work as part of our Duty Team, alongside a GP, Paramedic and other members of the team.
Hours/days: Friday 9am - 6pm
Salary: This post will be Band 6 / Band 7 (£19.78 - £24.65/hr), depending on experience.

We are made up of 2 sites, one in Topsham and a branch site at Countess Wear.
The 2 sites are spacious with a variety of consulting and administration rooms with a pharmacy based at the Glasshouse site.
We care for over 11,900 patients across a large practice boundary from Middlemoor and St Leonards to Lympstone in the South and Aylesbeare in the East.
Are you an experienced Walk In Centre Practitioner / Minor Illness Practitioner (Nurse, Paramedic or Pharmacist) looking to join a forward thinking and supportive GP Team?
We are recruiting an additional part time Minor Illness Clinicians to join our team on a Friday.
The post holders will work within a team as autonomous practitioners and be accountable and responsible for the health care management of the patient group.
The post holders will have the ability to assess and treat or determine the most appropriate pathway for the patient. The post holders will be supported by the Practice Duty Doctor and other members of the Duty team.
Duties of the Minor Illness Clinician will include:
Assessing and deciding the treatment plan for acute minor illness presentations such as
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
- Respiratory tract infections (URTI/LRTI)
- Sore throats
- Ear symptoms
b. Develop, implement and embed health promotion and well-being programmes
c. Provide a triage service, actively managing or referring patients or treating patients within own scope of practice
d. Provide routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF
e. Provide wound care to patients
f. Request pathology services as necessary, processing and interpreting results as required
g. Refer patients directly to other services as appropriate
h. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with extant legislation
i. Ensure read codes are used effectively
j. Prioritise health issues and intervene appropriately
k. Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies
Pay: £19.78-£24.65 per hour

Experience:
- assessing and treating minor illness: 1 year (required)
- Primary care / WIC / MIU: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- prescribing qualification (preferred)
- NMC/HCPC/GPhC registration (required)
