We are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to ensure strong, accurate, and efficient financial management across the business. The role will drive improvements in financial reporting, cost control, and compliance, while supporting the development of robust financial processes. Working closely with the Sales and Operations teams, the Financial Accountant will provide insight and analysis to support delivery of the Sales and Operations Plan.
Duties will involve:
- Preparing and posting month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation entries.
- Timely and accurate month-end reporting. Understand and interrogate the stock movements.
- Distribution of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts monthly
- Budgeting, Forecasting and Monthly/Quarterly management packs.
- Statutory Audits, and liaising with the Auditors.
- Ensure accurate posting of transactions in ERP, maintaining up-to-date ledgers.
- VAT returns and other compliance reporting as required.
- Managing supplier payments
- Managing Credit Control and Debtors.
- Supporting the General Manager and the wider business with finance-related matters.
- Work on Ad-hoc Projects as and when required.
Skills & Qualification required
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with Insight 123(PMS is preferable but not essential.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles and month-end processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas).
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively
