Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (Part-Time)

Kilbirnie Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to join our friendly and supportive team on a part-time basis 16-20 hours per week.
We are a well-established training practice serving approximately 8,000 patients, offering flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to develop a rewarding and fulfilling role tailored to your interests and expertise. We currently have 4 GP partners, 3 salaried GP’s, an ANP and a pharmacy team employed by the health board who manage acute prescription requests and discharge letters.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the management of long-term conditions and medication optimisation, including:
- Hypertension reviews and medication titration
- Lipid management and statin prescribing
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) management
- Diabetes reviews and optimisation
- Asthma and COPD reviews
There will also be opportunities to undertake and develop services in:
- Contraception reviews
- Pain management
- Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) management
- Targeted prescribing projects
- Other specialist areas aligned with the successful candidate’s interests and skills

About You
You will be:
- A qualified Clinical Pharmacist with the general pharmaceutical council (with a post graduate clinical diploma or equivalent experience)
- An Independent Prescriber
- Passionate about delivering high-quality patient care
- Confident managing long-term conditions and medication optimisation
- Keen to develop new skills and services within primary care
Pay banding appropriate to skills and experience
SPPA pension Scheme
Profession GPC fees/indemnity paid by practice
