Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Dental Nurse to join Cathedral Dental Practice. We are a friendly mixed private/NHS practice looking for a caring, confident qualified Dental nurse with exceptional communication skills and a personable approach to patients to join our team. . The role is full-time Monday- Friday 37.75 hours a week.

Working hours would be:

Monday - 8.15am - 5:30pm

Tuesday - 8:15am - 5:30pm

Wednesday - 8:15am - 5:.30pm

Thursday - 8:15am - 5:30pm

Friday - 8:15am - 1:00pm

Job Title: Dental Nurse (Qualified & GDC Registered)
Location: Cathedral Dental Practice Truro, Cornwall
Salary: £14.00- £15.50 DOE per hour, dependent on experience
Job Type: Full-Time 37.75 hours

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Support: Provide expert chair-side assistance across a range of general and specialist dental procedures.
Team Leadership: Mentor, and support our team of dental nurses, including assisting with rotas, training, and development.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure the practice complies with CQC regulations, infection control standards (HTM 01-05), and health & safety protocols.
Decontamination: Oversee the safe decontamination and sterilisation of instruments and maintain accurate clinical records.
Patient Care: Deliver outstanding, empathetic patient care, helping to ease anxious patients and ensuring a calm environment.

Requirements

Valid certification or diploma in Dental Nursing.
Current registration with the General Dental Council (GDC).
Proven post-qualification experience in a clinical setting.
Previous leadership, mentoring, or senior nursing experience is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of clinical governance, cross-infection protocols, and CQC requirements.
Excellent communication skills and a positive, compassionate attitude.
Qualified IPC Nurse preffered but not essential.
