Organisation Overview
The Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary is a registered charity based in South Cornwall, UK. Founded in 1995, our sanctuary now provides a safe home for life to over 100 donkeys, horses and ponies (primarily donkeys), all rescued from situations of abuse, neglect or abandonment.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, hard-working individual to join our maintenance team. This is a 6 month fixed term position. Working four/five days a week, 8:30am–11.30am, Thursday to Sunday essential and an optional Wednesday (half or full day). The position requires a committed team player who understands and supports Flicka’s aims and ethos.
Required Skills and Experience
- Previous caretaking experience
- Full, clean UK driving licence and own transport
- A flexible approach to work and willingness to adapt to changing priorities
- Availability to work the required hours/days
- Experience cleaning to a high standard
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with the ongoing cleaning of all sanctuary grounds and buildings. Including signage, windows, guttering, canopies, toilets and office exteriors
- Weeding. Including driveways, walkways, planters, hanging baskets, flower beds
- Grass cutting and strimming
- Sweeping all pubic areas daily. Including driveway, walkways, car parks, main sanctuary and fronts of donkey barns
- Keeping office, shop and tea room exteriors webweb free
- Maintaining seating areas. Ensuring benches and picnic tabes are clean and cobweb free at all times
- Cleaning pigeon muck from doorways and where visitors frequent
Other Information
- Annual leave allowance: 28 days per year (pro rata), arranged with the Estates Manager
- Bank Holidays are normal working days
