Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, bringing creativity to our kitchen. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. You will play a crucial role in maintaining food safety protocols while fostering a collaborative environment for our kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
Ensure that all food is prepared and presented according to company standards
Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
Oversee food production processes, ensuring efficiency and quality control.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and enhance existing offerings.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies as needed.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.

Experience

Previous experience working in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food presentation techniques.
Proven knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Culinary qualifications or relevant hospitality training is an advantage.
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail.

- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
