An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Product Engineer to join our established team at Tedd Engineering Toomebridge. The Lead Product Engineer will act as the single technical owner across Tedd Engineering’s product portfolio, working closely with customers from initial concept through to delivery, field use, and eventual product lifecycle retirement.
The role ensures customer requirements are effectively translated into robust, manufacturable products, while maintaining continuity of ownership and accountability throughout the product lifecycle.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during new and existing product development
- Work with customers to understand requirements, applications, and constraints
- Guide customers through the development process, ensuring clarity and alignment
- Take ownership of products across the full lifecycle
- Maintain continuity of knowledge and decision-making
- Translate customer requirements into clear inputs for electronics and embedded teams
- Work closely with engineering to ensure solutions are practical and aligned to real-world use
- Support design reviews and challenge where necessary
- Lead point of contact for technical issues and drive corrective actions
- Monitor product performance
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability and usability
- Support ingoing product evolution across the product portfolio
- Maintain clear documentation of requirements, decisions, and product changes
- Ensure traceability between customer needs and delivered solutions
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong background in machine control system design
- Experience across product lifecycle stages (design through to field use)
- Ability to work directly with customers in a technical capacity
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
- Comfortable working across multiple functions and taking ownership
DESIRABLE:
- Understanding of AC and DC control systems
- Experience in software development processes
- Exposure to manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 processes
- Someone who can build trust with customers through technical credibility
- Ability to bridge the gap between customer expectations and engineering delivery
- Structured, pragmatic and focused on getting products right first time
This is a fully based office role, however a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential due to travel requirements.
