We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Account Clerk to join our team. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a career in finance, supporting the smooth running of the College's purchase and sales ledgers while receiving full training and day-to-day supervision.
The position is set to commence asap and will be full time (35 hours per week) for 12 weeks (with a pay rate of £14.51 per hour + holiday pay ) .
Main Duties
The role holder will be taught to support the smooth running of the College’s Purchase and other ledgers. This will include managing incoming purchase invoices, gaining approval, and then distributing where necessary for processing, as well as the input/filing of invoices, for our suppliers and our non-student customers. Necessarily, there will be regular contact with suppliers to resolve issues as and when they arise.

Additionally, the postholder will assist with queries from students, staff and members of the public, and will provide general support and assistance to the accountant and to Bursary colleagues as required.

Day-to-day supervision and training will be provided.

Selection Criteria:
- This role is likely to appeal to someone who has good finance and spreadsheet skills, enjoys working in a number’s environment, and wants to work in a stimulating setting.
College needs a dependable team player with initiative and a large helping of common sense, and who remains calm under pressure. Good written and verbal communication skills are very important, as is a disciplined and methodical approach to tasks. The ability to alter working hours as some planned evening and weekend work will be required
