About the role

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Orthopaedic Theatre team at Pontefract Hospital.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with extensive orthopaedic experience to become an integral part of our dynamic team.

This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career or seeking a fresh challenge in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Main duties

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with extensive orthopaedic theatre experience to become a key member of our dynamic multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their perioperative career or seeking a fresh challenge in a supportive and forward thinking environment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical experience within the orthopaedic speciality.

They will be expected to undertake a variety of perioperative roles including:

Scrub Practitioner
Circulating Person
Escort Person

All responsibilities will be performed within the scope of the post holder’s qualifications and registration.

The post holder will act as a role model and mentor, supporting junior staff and students through training, supervision, and participation in professional development processes..

Essential person specification requirements

Qualifications

RODP/RN
Willingness to undertake mentorship/assessor qualification

Experience

Previous experience in theatre setting

Knowledge and Awareness

Essential knowledge of your own speciality and current issues in health care
Ability to demonstrate evidence based practice
Continued Professional Development

Skills and Abilities

An ability to work within the peri-operative team and organise and prioritise own and others workload
Commitment to training
