Untold Studios operates entirely in the cloud across Commercials, Feature Films and Episodic work for major streamers. As the generative AI space accelerates, we’re building a serious, production-grade AI tooling capability — and this role is central to it.
The Role
This is a show-level role. You will take direct ownership of F&E rig pipelines from brief to delivery, lead riggers on production across a diverse range of creature and character work, develop technical solutions to meet complex rig requirements, and play a meaningful part in the continued development of our proprietary rigging system alongside your show responsibilities.
You’ll work closely with CG Supervisors and Production teams. You understand enough about the production context to make decisions about what gets built, how it gets deployed, and what the artist experience should look like.
You are a highly motivated problem solving individual. You thrive in leading a close knit team to find solutions to complex Rigging challenges. Your experience ensures that their implementation is done in the most comprehensive way.
Your Key Responsibilities
Own the rigging pipeline on F&E productions end to end, from asset brief through to shot finalling
Lead and mentor junior and mid-level riggers across your shows
Build Python rigging tools and modules to production standard
Develop technical solutions to meet complex rig requirements and maximise efficiency
Contribute to the ongoing development of our proprietary rigging system alongside show work
Hold the creative & technical bar on your shows — asset sign-off, shot finalling triage, retake decisions.
Collaborate with CG Supervisors and the Head of Rigging on technical direction
Required Skills and Experience
Proven Features and Episodic rigging experience
Strong Python skills, comfortable writing rigging modules, classes and tools from scratch
Experience leading riggers on production and owning a show independently
Maya proficiency is an absolute must
With a strong background in:
Procedural and modular rig construction
Creature and character deformation & control systems
Show pipeline ownership and cross-department communication
Nice to have
OpenMaya
C++ Maya plugin development
Feature animation experience
Crowd rigging experience
Mocap retargeting experience
